Getting to Snowy Mountains

About five and a half hours by car from Sydney, or two and a half hours from Canberra.

Most visitors drive. Canberra Airport is the closest major airport. In winter, coaches run from Sydney and Canberra to the resorts, and the Skitube train connects Bullocks Flat with Perisher.

Getting around the mountains

A car is essential outside the ski season. In winter, carry chains where required, and use resort shuttles and the Skitube. Kosciuszko National Park charges a daily vehicle entry fee. Mobile coverage is limited in parts of the park.

Onward

Drive to the South Coast or back to Sydney via Canberra. See the NSW transport guide.
